Rubber care instructions

Proper care is essential to maintain the quality and longevity of your garments. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your rubber gear looking sharp and feeling comfortable.

Getting Into Your Rubber Gear

Suiting up in rubber can be smooth with these two methods:

Silicone Lubricant:

  • Apply silicone lube to the inside of your garment and your skin. The more, the better, as it allows the garment to slide on smoothly.

Talcum Powder:

  • Apply perfume-free talcum powder inside the garment and on your skin. It helps the rubber slide on easily and prevents any damage.
Shine On with HERR Shine
  • Keep your rubber shining with HERR Shine polish. Apply it evenly with a soft cloth to keep your gear looking sleek.
Clean Up with HERR Clean
  • After wearing your rubber gear, rinse it with lukewarm water to remove sweat and dirt.
  • Use a mild colorless soap or HERR Clean. Rinse thoroughly to avoid soap residue.
  • Colored and transparent latex will change its color after getting wet. This will pass after getting dry.
  • Let your rubber air dry naturally. No dryers!
  • Light garments may discolor when in contact with dark ones. Wash them separately.
Preserve with HERR Conserve
  • Make sure your rubber is clean and dry before storing. Apply HERR Conserve talcum powder to prevent sticking.
  • Hang your gear in a dark, cool place. Using hangers helps avoid creases.
  • Store items of the same color together to prevent darker colors from staining lighter ones.
Avoiding Damage
  • Keep your rubber out of sunlight, UV rays can cause discoloration and make it look dull.
  • Avoid contact with metals like brass and copper, which can stain your rubber.
  • Steer clear of oil-based products, as they will weaken and damage your latex.

Comfort Tips

  • Use talcum powder or silicone lubricant on your skin and inside the garment for easy dressing.
  • Ensure a snug fit without pinching.
  • Be careful with sharp objects that could scratch the rubber.
  • Avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight while wearing your gear.
